Govs urge vax for kids aged 5-11

Governors in Bulacan and Pampanga have urged parents to vaccinate their eligible children aged 5 to 11 years old as part of the 'Resbakuna Kids' program launched on Wednesday.

In Bulacan, Governor Daniel Fernando emphasized that vaccines are safe and effective, endorsed by the Philippine Pediatric Society.

Pampanga began its vaccination drive at Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital, with children of healthcare workers among the first to receive the vaccine.

The DOH aims to vaccinate 735,631 minors in Eastern Visayas starting February 14 and has expanded vaccination sites to accommodate more children.

On the program's first day, 9,784 children were vaccinated across 32 sites nationwide with only one child reporting a mild reaction.

Metro Manila vaccination sites have prepared activities like coloring and toys to encourage more children to get vaccinated.
