Gilas wins first Asian Games gold after 61 years

Gilas Pilipinas won its first Asian Games gold medal in men's basketball after 61 years on Friday night.

The team defeated Jordan with a score of 70-60 at the Hangzhou edition of the Asiad.

President Marcos, House Speaker Romualdez, and Philippine Olympic Committee president Tolentino all congratulated Gilas Pilipinas for this historic achievement.

Marcos praised the team's hard work and noted that every Filipino can take pride in their victory.

Justin Brownlee led the team with 20 points, while Ange Kouame added 14 markers and 11 rebounds.
