Cebu: 18 dancing inmates test positive for COVID-19

Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia announced 37 new cases of COVID-19 in the province, including 18 inmates from the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center known for 'dancing inmates'.

Additionally, over 200 inmates at Cebu City Jail have tested positive for the virus.

BJMP chief Allan Iral reported that there are now 233 detainees and jail personnel across three city jails who have tested positive for COVID-19, with 185 of them from Cebu City Jail.

Iral also stated that infected inmates and staff are being isolated to prevent further spread.
