Filipinas reach historic Asiad quarters, fall to Japan

Philippine women's football coach Mark Torcaso considers their performance in the 19th Asian Games a success despite losing to South Korea and Japan.

The team secured victories over Hong Kong and Myanmar, reaching the quarterfinals for the first time in 65 years.

In the quarterfinal match against Japan, the Filipinas lost 8-1 with only one goal from Sarina Bolden.

Prior to this, they won against Hong Kong and Myanmar and drew with South Korea in group stage matches.
