Filipinas women's football ends Asian Games campaign with pride

The Filipinas women's football team returned home with pride after an 8-1 loss to Japan in the quarterfinals of the 19th Asian Games in China.

Despite the defeat, the team achieved significant milestones by defeating Hong Kong and Myanmar, marking their first appearance in the Asiad since a Philippine football team last reached the knockout phase 65 years ago.

Team manager Jeff Cheng viewed the tournament as a success despite not winning a medal, emphasizing the need to learn from new challenges and improve for future competitions.
