Experts see rise in NCR COVID-19 cases post-holidays

Experts studying the coronavirus outbreak noted an uptick in COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila after the holidays.

OCTA Research reported 554 new cases on December 31 and 404 on January 1, higher than the average of 320 cases from December 26 to 30.

The decrease in cases during the holiday period was attributed to reduced testing capacity due to fewer personnel at testing centers.

OCTA expects an increase in new COVID-19 cases in the first week of January as testing centers resume normal operations.
