Former Bamban mayor denies links to Chinese criminal syndicates at House hearing

Former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo was brought to the House of Representatives Thursday morning for her first appearance before a quad committee hearing on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).

Guo appeared before the special four-way panel investigating fraud, illegal drugs, extrajudicial killings, and money laundering operations in the country.

During the hearing, Batangas 2nd District Rep. Gerville 'Jinky' Bitrics Luistro questioned Guo about her business dealings and potential ties to criminal syndicates from Fujian, China.

Luistro presented evidence linking Guo to convicted money launderers from Fujian, including Baoying Lin and Rujin Zhang, who were involved in operating POGOs linked to human trafficking and money laundering.

Guo denied any knowledge of the Fujian gang and her ties to individuals convicted of anti-money laundering activities, despite evidence suggesting otherwise.
