Sual Mayor denies romantic link with ex-Bamban mayor

Sual Mayor Liseldo 'Dong' Calugay denied having any romantic relationship with former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo during Tuesday's Senate probe into illegal POGOs.

Calugay insisted he and Guo are just friends despite evidence presented by Senator Jinggoy Estrada, including photos of them together in campaign caravans and wearing couple shirts.

During the hearing, Calugay maintained that his relationship with Guo is strictly platonic, admitting only to giving her flowers for Valentine's Day as a friendly gesture.

Calugay denied owning businesses derived from their names and stated he neither runs nor is familiar with Alisel Consumer Goods Trading Hardware and Construction Supplies.

His executive assistant Cheryl Medina, listed as the owner of Dee Aqua Farm, also denied ownership, explaining that she applied for registration but did not proceed after discovering government employees are prohibited from engaging in business.
