NBI investigates Guo's alleged body double

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Jaime Santiago has not ruled out the possibility that a doppelganger of former Bamban mayor Alice Guo might have been used to mislead investigators.

On Friday, September 13, the alleged body double of Guo, identified as Cath, visited the NBI office in Quezon City to speak with agents about her role in assisting the dismissed official.

During a previous media forum on Tuesday, Santiago confirmed that it is possible this lookalike could have diverted authorities from Guo's actual location and was one of her staff members who served as a decoy.

The woman had previously told investigators that she was an employee of Guo and not a doppelganger.

Additionally, Santiago revealed that the NBI does not believe Guo's claim that no Filipinos assisted her escape, as they have identified individuals who aided her, including private citizens and public officials.

The agency also stated that it is using information provided by Guo to build a case against lawyer Elmer Galicia, whom she previously denied knowing during Senate hearings.
