Albay under total lockdown to block coronavirus

Albay province was placed under a total lockdown on Wednesday to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The lockdown prohibits people from entering or leaving the province, even residents trying to return home.

Authorities will man checkpoints at provincial borders to enforce the ban, closing all entry points by land, air, and sea.

Exemptions are made only for those transporting essential goods such as food, medicines, water, agricultural products, power and telecommunication equipment.
