Espejo leads Criss Cross to Spikers' Turf Open finals

Marck Espejo led Criss Cross to the finals of the 2024 Spikers' Turf Open Conference with a dramatic comeback against Cignal HD on Sunday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Espejo, who recently won a title in the Korean V-League, scored 28 points and was named the final Player of the Week for his performance this conference.

Despite falling behind two sets to none, Espejo rallied Criss Cross with key performances in the third and fourth sets before sealing victory in the fifth set.

The King Crunchers' journey to the finals included a tough loss to D'Navigators followed by a dominant sweep of PGJC-Navy Sea Lions.

Espejo's consistent play earned him 10 votes among sports writers, outshining other top players like Cignal's Bryan Bagunas and PGJC-Navy's Greg Dolor.

Criss Cross will face off against Cignal HD in the finals with Game 1 scheduled for Wednesday on www.spikersturf.ph.
