DepEd official tests positive for COVID-19

A DepEd schools division official in Mandaluyong City has tested positive for COVID-19.

The official attended the National Festival of Talents and the National Schools Press Conference, which were attended by around 8,000 students from private and public schools.

DepEd has provided hospitalization assistance to the infected official and is monitoring colleagues who had close contact with him before his hospitalization.

None of the colleagues have exhibited respiratory symptoms so far.

The department also placed NFOT and NSPC delegates under precautionary home quarantine, and no link has been established between these events and the Mandaluyong patient.
