Iloilo records first coronavirus death

Iloilo province recorded its first coronavirus death on Sunday night.

The patient was a 70-year-old male from Lambunao town with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and diabetes; his daughter had recently returned from abroad.

Western Visayas reported nine new cases, bringing the total to 13 in the region.

Three of these new cases are from Aklan province, three from Bacolod City, two from Iloilo province, and one from Iloilo City.

The death toll in Western Visayas increased with a 72-year-old male patient from Iloilo City who died on March 19 due to complications from COVID-19.
