NEDA: NCR Plus ECQ costs P30B in household income

The extended two-week enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila and its four nearby provinces will result in significant economic losses.

NEDA estimates that the ECQ will lead to a daily household income loss of P2.1 billion, totaling almost P30 billion over the two weeks.

Additionally, NEDA predicts 252,000 more individuals losing jobs and 102,000 more people falling into poverty due to the strict lockdown.

ECOP president Sergio Ortiz-Luis Jr. also warned that the one-week extension of ECQ will cost billions to the economy.
