Eastern Samar, Northern Samar declare states of calamity after Typhoon Ambo

Eastern Samar placed nine towns under a state of calamity due to damage from Typhoon Ambo.

The affected towns are Maslog, Jipapad, Arteche, San Policarpio, Oras, Dolores, Can-avid, Taft, and Sulat.

In Northern Samar, the entire province was declared under a state of calamity after the typhoon.

Typhoon Ambo displaced thousands of families in Eastern Samar, with around 34,235 affected households.

The typhoon caused PHP912.6 million worth of damage to agriculture and PHP41 million in public infrastructure damage in Eastern Samar.

In Northern Samar, over 128,034 families were affected by the typhoon, resulting in PHP132 million in agricultural losses and PHP127.2 million in public infrastructure damage.
