Eastern Visayas reports 9.7K recoveries, highest daily cases

As of Saturday, Eastern Visayas reported a total of 9,753 recoveries from COVID-19, representing 89.77% of confirmed cases since March.

The region recorded 88 new recoveries and 48 new infections on December 26th.

Eastern Visayas logged its highest daily tally with 244 new cases on December 23rd, bringing the cumulative total to 10,456 as of that date.

The high recovery rate is attributed to a high percentage of asymptomatic or mild patients managed in community isolation units and temporary treatment facilities.
