Eastern Visayas logs high recovery rate, 88 new cases

As of Saturday, January 9, Eastern Visayas has recorded a total of 11,126 recoveries from COVID-19, representing 92.98% of confirmed cases since March.

The region's high recovery rate is attributed to the majority of patients being asymptomatic or having mild symptoms, which are managed in local community isolation units and temporary treatment facilities.

On Thursday, January 7, Eastern Visayas logged an additional 88 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total confirmed cases to 11,719. Three more deaths were reported, raising the death toll to 141.
