Duterte’s IATF meeting moved to June 15

President Duterte has postponed his meeting with the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Infectious Diseases (IATF) from Thursday to Monday, June 15.

The IATF will meet on Wednesday afternoon to discuss whether to ease or tighten quarantine measures starting June 16.

Duterte is expected to address the nation on June 15 after reviewing the IATF's recommendations based on data on case doubling rates and critical care capacity.

General community quarantine (GCQ) remains in place until June 15 in Metro Manila, Cebu City, and other areas, while modified GCQ applies elsewhere.

Roque noted that achieving zero COVID-19 cases is challenging due to the Philippines' larger population compared to New Zealand.
