Duque takes responsibility for health workers' compensation delays

Health Secretary Duque acknowledges his responsibility for the delayed compensation of COVID-19-hit health workers.

President Duterte directed Duque to form a new team to oversee the distribution of assistance within 24 hours.

The Bayanihan to Heal as One Act mandates PHP100,000 for infected healthcare workers and PHP1 million for those who died due to the virus.

Previously, Duque had blamed his subordinates for the delay but now accepts full responsibility.
