Duterte may ease GCQ if 2M vaccinated

Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles suggested that the entire Philippines could be placed under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) by April if at least two million doses of COVID-19 vaccines are administered.

President Duterte is considering easing restrictions in GCQ areas once this vaccination target is met, but previously rejected a proposal to implement MGCQ nationwide in March.

Nograles stated that Duterte wants to see more widespread and rigorous vaccine distribution before relaxing quarantine measures.
