Philippines aims to vaccinate 50M by year-end

The Philippines will receive an additional 117,000 Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine doses from COVAX in April.

As of March 8, over 44,000 people have been vaccinated with the available doses.

At least 1.12 million doses of Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines have arrived so far, with more expected to arrive soon.

The government aims to vaccinate 50 million Filipinos by year-end, requiring a daily vaccination rate of 250,000 to 300,000 people.

Purchase orders worth P4.8 billion for 17 million AstraZeneca and one million Sinovac doses have been signed.
