Duterte likely to declare state of calamity in typhoon-hit regions

President Rodrigo Duterte is likely to declare a state of calamity in Bicol, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA due to damage caused by Typhoons Quinta and Rolly.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council recommended the declaration after assessing PHP17 billion worth of damage to agriculture and infrastructure.

Harry Roque, presidential spokesperson, stated that a document from the Office of the President is awaited for confirmation.
