Duterte hopes second 'Bayanihan, Bakunahan' phase persuades unvaccinated

President Rodrigo Duterte expressed hope that the second phase of the 'Bayanihan, Bakunahan' vaccination drive would encourage more unvaccinated Filipinos to get their shots.

During the launch of Phase 2 on Thursday, Duterte highlighted the success of the first phase which saw over 10 million doses administered across five days.

Vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez and Health Secretary Francisco Duque were praised for their efforts alongside thousands of volunteers who contributed to the initiative's success.

Duterte also warned unvaccinated individuals that they could be targeted by the new Omicron variant, urging them to get vaccinated.
