DOH expects WHO SAGE booster guidance by Dec. 7

The Department of Health (DOH) expects World Health Organization-Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) recommendations on COVID-19 booster shots by December 7.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire assured that vaccine supply prioritizes unvaccinated and partially vaccinated individuals despite the upcoming booster guidelines.

Starting December 3, fully vaccinated adults can receive booster shots regardless of initial vaccine brand, with administration six months after second dose except for Janssen, which is three months.

DOH plans to release operational guidelines for adult booster shots on December 10.
