Duterte OKs tripartite deals for LGUs to buy vaccines

Local government units (LGUs) are seeking to partner with the national government to procure COVID-19 vaccines using their own funds.

President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the proposal for LGUs to enter into tripartite agreements with the national government and vaccine manufacturers.

The initiative, similar to a previous agreement signed in November 2020 between the national government, private sector, and pharmaceutical companies, aims to maximize manpower, expertise, and resources for a coordinated immunization program.
