PSG vaccinated despite lacking FDA approval

President Rodrigo Duterte's close-in security detail, the Presidential Security Group (PSG), has been vaccinated against COVID-19 despite lacking FDA approval.

Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez defended PSG's vaccination, stating that protecting the President is a priority.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque urged PSG to apply for special permits from the FDA to inoculate more personnel.

IBP president Domingo Cayosa suggested Duterte's order to PSG not to testify may be an initial reaction and could change as facts emerge.

Duterte warned Congress against interfering with PSG over the vaccination issue, citing self-preservation and the right to live.
