Duterte OKs PHP2.25B for health workers' PPE

President Rodrigo Duterte has approved in principle a PHP2.25-billion budget for the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE) for 5,000 health care workers responding to the novel coronavirus threat.

During a Senate hearing on Tuesday, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said the funds will cover PPE needs for three months and an additional P10 million for face masks.
