DSWD releases PHP22.7M relief aid for Karding victims

The DSWD has released over PHP22.7 million in relief assistance to victims of Super Typhoon Karding, providing food and non-food items as well as cash assistance.

As of September 28, the agency reported that it had provided more than PHP22.7 million worth of FNIs to LGUs and financial aid amounting to a total of PHP2.73 million under AICS.

The DSWD has set aside a P1.1 billion budget for disaster response in affected regions including Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, NCR, and CAR.

At least 224,000 family food packs were prepositioned by the agency to be distributed in 194 evacuation centers housing over 9,000 individuals.
