Duterte urges Filipinos to persevere amid pandemic

President Rodrigo Duterte believes God will not forsake Filipinos during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

He appealed to the public to comply with quarantine protocols such as physical distancing, mask-wearing, and hand hygiene.

Duterte noted that if Jesus could sacrifice himself for humanity's sins, Filipinos can practice patience while waiting for a vaccine.

Despite his earlier mocking of religious beliefs, Duterte urged perseverance during this time of health crisis.
