DOTr: Unvax exemptions for medical conditions, essential travel

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) reiterated on Thursday that there are exemptions to the 'no vaccination, no ride' policy in the National Capital Region (NCR), which has been fully enforced since Monday.

Exemptions include individuals with medical conditions preventing full COVID-19 vaccination and those traveling for essential goods and services as shown by a barangay health pass or other proof.

In Quezon City, 570 unvaccinated commuters apprehended since the policy's implementation have received their first dose of the vaccine at the Quezon Memorial Circle.

Social media users criticized the policy after a report showed a partially vaccinated commuter denied transport on the first day of enforcement.

On Monday, around 130 unvaccinated commuters in QC were brought to vaccination sites by local authorities following apprehension.
