Casiey Dongallo scores 27 points in UE's comeback win over Ateneo

Catmon, Cebu native Casiey Dongallo made a strong debut in college volleyball by scoring 27 points to lead University of East's victory over Ateneo on Saturday.

Dongallo credited her teammates for her success and emphasized that she is playing not just for personal accolades but also to help UE rise from their past performance.

Her performance included the last three attacks that secured her team's win in a four-set triumph, marking UE's first victory against Ateneo since 2010.

Assistant coach Obet Vital expressed optimism about the team's progress, noting that winning two games this season would be an improvement over recent years with only nine wins in the last ten seasons.

Dongallo, who had some rookie jitters before the game but quickly overcame them, said she is excited to face defending champions De La Salle Lady Spikers in their upcoming matches on March 6.

UE's victory also matched their win tally from the past six seasons, with their next match set for Wednesday, February 21 at 4:00 PM against University of Santo Tomas.
