DOH starts distributing P1M checks to kin of fallen frontliners

The Department of Health (DOH) has started distributing P1 million checks to the families of medical frontliners who died due to COVID-19.

As of Saturday, June 6, checks have been delivered to the heirs of 29 healthcare workers, with three more expected to receive theirs soon.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire stated that DOH is also processing PHP100,000 cash aid for severely or critically ill health workers affected by COVID-19.

DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III personally handed out the checks to some families on Friday, June 5.

The first check was delivered on Thursday night, June 4, and more deliveries are scheduled in Metro Manila and Davao Region.
