PH records 615 new COVID-19 cases, total now at 24,787

As of Friday, June 12, the Philippines recorded a total of 24,787 coronavirus cases with 615 new confirmed infections.

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 16 additional deaths, raising the death toll to 1,052, and noted that 289 patients have recovered, bringing total recoveries to 5,454.

Among the new cases, 336 were 'fresh' or validated within three days, while 279 were 'late' cases released earlier but only recently confirmed.

Health workers account for 12% of all infections with 2,808 cases and 33 deaths as of June 10.

The DOH advised the public to continue following preventive measures despite easing restrictions.
