DOH starts second booster shots for immunocompromised

As of Wednesday, around 2,100 individuals in the Philippines have received their second booster shot of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The DOH aims to inoculate 690,000 people for the second booster and is targeting immunocompromised individuals first.

On Monday, the administration of a second booster to immunocompromised persons or the A3 population began.

Dr. Benito Atienza stated that immunocompromised individuals are prioritized due to their vulnerability to severe disease or death from COVID-19.

The NVOC chair mentioned they aim to vaccinate 7,000 to 13,000 immunocompromised individuals with the second booster shot three months after their first booster.
