DOH investigates NCR hospital's mistaken 2nd COVID-19 booster shots

On Tuesday, the DOH confirmed that a hospital in the National Capital Region mistakenly administered second COVID-19 boosters to healthcare workers and senior citizens who are not immunocompromised.

The hospital management claimed they unintentionally misinterpreted guidelines released by the DOH.

Although the Health Technology Assessment Council has completed recommendations for a second booster shot for immunocompromised individuals, it is still reviewing data for non-immunocompromised groups.

The DOH stated that it is now investigating reports of this incident and coordinating with healthcare facilities to prevent further occurrences.
