DOH sends 50 tracers to Bontoc for UK variant cases

DOH sent more than 50 contact tracers to Bontoc, Mountain Province on January 23-24 to assist local teams in tracking down the first and second level contacts of 12 individuals infected with the UK variant of COVID-19.

The additional tracers came from DOH offices in Regions 1, 2, 3, and CAR, joining existing local and regional contact tracers who had already begun tracing activities.

Of the 12 cases, seven are male and five female; three are under 18 years old while three are over 60. The youngest is a five-year-old child.

Bontoc Mayor Franklyn Odsey placed Barangays Bontoc Ili, Caluttit, and Poblacion under ECQ from January 25 to 31 to facilitate full contact tracing.
