DOH reports 5,807 new COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health reported 5,807 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, October 23, bringing the total nationwide tally to 2,751,667.

Active cases stood at 63,051 with recoveries increasing by 9,578 to 2,647,031 and deaths rising by 65 to a total of 41,585.

The report also noted that 55% of ICU beds nationwide were in use while 40% of ward beds across the country and 36% in NCR were occupied.

On Wednesday, October 20, the DOH reported 3,656 new cases, the lowest daily tally since July 13, with active cases at 67,061.

Total recoveries increased by 228 to 2,627,331 and deaths rose by five to a total of 40,977 on Wednesday.
