DOH rejects vaccine pass proposal for indoor establishments

The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday rejected proposals for 'vaccine passes' to allow vaccinated individuals access to indoor establishments.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said there is insufficient evidence that current vaccines can prevent transmission or guarantee immunity against COVID-19.

Vergeire emphasized that the primary benefit of vaccination is reducing severe infections and hospitalizations, but not preventing mild to moderate infections.
