DOH logs 591 new COVID-19 cases on last day of 2022

On the last day of 2022, the DOH reported 591 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the national caseload to 4,064,443.

Active cases decreased to 13,497 from 13,822 on Friday, marking three consecutive days with fewer than 700 daily cases.

The National Capital Region had the highest number of new infections in the past two weeks (3,459), followed by Calabarzon (1,613), Central Luzon (796), Western Visayas (420), and Ilocos Region (319).

Recoveries increased to 3,985,561 with 926 new recoveries, while the death toll rose to 65,385.

As of Friday, the national bed occupancy rate was 17.6%, with 4,799 occupied and 22,396 vacant beds.
