Metro Manila's COVID-19 positivity rate drops to 11.5%, other areas see rise

As of December 24, the COVID-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila decreased to 11.5%, down from 13.9% a week earlier.

In contrast, Albay, Ilocos Sur, Kalinga, and Pampanga saw significant increases in their positivity rates, with Ilocos Sur reaching 44.8% on December 24.

OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David noted that the positivity rate also increased in Batangas, Bulacan, Ilocos Norte, Nueva Ecija, and Quezon.

Despite the decline in Metro Manila, the positivity rate remains above the WHO-recommended 5% threshold.
