DOH expects COVID-19 cases to rise after holiday gatherings

The Department of Health (DOH) expects an increase in COVID-19 cases due to holiday gatherings.

DOH Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire said the rise is expected because people have been moving around and gathering for parties during the holidays.

Vergeire assured that hospitals are prepared with additional beds and medicines if a surge occurs, but emphasized that the goal now is not to reach zero cases.
