DOH logs 506 new COVID-19 cases; active infections rise

The Philippines logged 506 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the total active infections to 4,446.

Recoveries increased by 315 to 4,019,325 while the death toll remained at 66,444.

The National Capital Region (NCR) recorded the most new cases in the last 14 days with 2,212, followed by Calabarzon and Davao Region.

Quezon City had the highest number of new cases among cities and provinces with 439, followed by Manila and Cavite province.

The Health Department reported that COVID-19 bed occupancy is currently at 16.7%, with 4,027 beds occupied and 20,134 vacant.
