Philippines COVID-19 positivity rate rises to 8.8%

The national COVID-19 positivity rate has increased to 8.8 percent, up from 8.5 percent last week.

As of April 20, there were 530 new cases reported with one death in the National Capital Region (NCR).

There are currently 7,340 active cases and 1,441 recoveries have been recorded.

OCTA Research projects between 500 to 600 new cases on April 21.

The positivity rate is above the World Health Organization's recommended threshold of 5 percent.
