DOH logs 23,883 new COVID-19 cases from Aug 15 to 21

The Department of Health recorded 23,883 new COVID-19 cases from August 15 to 21, marking a 15% decrease compared to the previous week.

Of these cases, 101 were severe or critical, bringing the total active severe cases down to 811.

The DOH also reported an additional 321 deaths, with 109 occurring in August and the rest being backlogs from earlier periods.

ICU-bed utilization rate decreased slightly to 27%, while non-ICU bed utilization dropped to 30.2%.

Vaccination progress shows that 72,310,147 individuals are fully vaccinated, representing 92.59% of the target population.
