DOH logs 2,565 new COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) logged 2,565 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, August 27, bringing the total nationwide caseload to 3,872,405.

Active cases decreased to 29,807 from 31,615 on Friday.

The National Capital Region reported the highest number of new cases in the last two weeks with 11,992, followed by Calabarzon (6,289), Central Luzon (4,043), Western Visayas (2,103), and Cagayan Valley (1,661).

Recoveries increased by 4,183 to a total of 3,780,985, while the death toll rose to 61,613 with 54 new fatalities.

The country's bed occupancy rate was at 28.1%, with 8,188 beds occupied and 20,958 vacant.
