DOH logs 153 new COVID-19 cases; active tally at 8,410

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 153 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the active tally to 8,410.

From March 13 to 19, the DOH recorded 1,171 infections, a 19% increase from the previous week.

The highest weekly case count since January was reported by ABS-CBN Investigative and Research Group.

DOH Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire assured that hospitals are managing cases well with minimal severe and critical cases.

Despite the rise in infections, ICU bed utilization slightly decreased to 13.3%, while non-ICU beds were at 17% usage.
