DOH locates 1 of 8 travelers from South Africa

On Wednesday, the Department of Health (DoH) reported that they have located one out of eight travelers from South Africa, where the Omicron variant was first detected.

The identified returning overseas Filipino worker is in home quarantine with a negative RT-PCR test result and no symptoms.

Seven travelers remain unlocated; three did not provide contact details, one provided an incorrect number, two were unresponsive, and another gave incomplete information.

These individuals arrived between November 15 and 29, before the Philippines imposed travel restrictions on South Africa due to Omicron.
