DOH investigates suspected coronavirus case in Tacloban

The Department of Health (DOH) in Eastern Visayas is investigating a 36-year-old man with flu-like symptoms who has a travel history to Wuhan City, China.

As of Friday, the DOH neither confirmed nor denied reports circulating on social media about the suspected coronavirus case.

Minerva Molon, DOH-EV director, stated that they are following WHO guidelines and government protocols regarding patient confidentiality.

Molon assured there is no need for panic as the virus cannot cause direct death and is not highly communicable like MERS-CoV or SARS.
