DFA plans repatriation of Filipinos from Hubei next week

The DFA plans to repatriate Filipino citizens from Hubei province in China next week upon clearance from Chinese authorities.

Filipinos in Wuhan City and the rest of Hubei will be given priority, with around 30 to 50 expressing a desire to return home.

There are approximately 300 Filipinos in Hubei, including about 150 in Wuhan, which is the epicenter of the novel coronavirus outbreak.

The DFA requires immigration clearances and quarantine processes from Chinese authorities before proceeding with repatriation efforts.

Those being repatriated will be required to undergo a 14-day quarantine period in a medical facility arranged by the DOH.
