PNP to take contacts of nCoV cases to hospitals if health threat

The Philippine National Police (PNP) will be required to take individuals who have been in close contact with confirmed novel coronavirus cases to a hospital if health officials deem them a public health threat.

On Wednesday, the Department of Health (DOH) sought police assistance after one person who had been in contact with the first two confirmed nCoV cases refused hospitalization despite showing symptoms.

Health Undersecretary Eric Domingo stated that 203 people have been traced and assessed; 188 were advised for home quarantine, while 15 showed symptoms and required monitoring.
